Do you sell goods by weight? Is your price list based on net weight?
For these products, you need to eliminate the impact represented by the weight of waste, the weight of packaging or the weight of the container used to weigh the goods?
With the "Product waste rate" app, define the tare percentage and deduct it from the theoretical weight of your delivered products.
Automatically calculate the net weight of products sold, and adjust your prices accordingly.
Installation of the "Product waste rate" app:
- Adds a field on product sheets to define the waste rate.
- Integrate waste rate information into PDFs of sales documents
1. Definition of product waste rate
# On products
Two new fields have been added to set the loss rate on customer and supplier products:
- Customer waste rate
- Waste rate Supplier
These fields are used to enter the rate of loss or tare associated with the marketing of a product.
This information is then included in sales documents and displayed on their PDFs.
# On commercial sales documents
When adding a product to a sales document, the waste rate is displayed below the product line.
By default, this field contains the waste rate defined on the product sheet. However, this field is editable and can therefore be modified and adapted to each sales or purchasing situation.
Waste rates are transferred throughout the sales administration chain (from quotation to invoice) or purchasing administration chain (quotation to supplier order).
Special feature on invoices: the customer waste rate is taken into account when calculating the total amount of the product line.
The official quantity indicated on the item line remains the original quantity. But the calculation of the total selling price of the product is based on the quantity containing the waste reduction.
2. Display of waste rate in commercial documents
This waste rate information is displayed on PDFs of the following sales documents, along with "% tare" and "net quantity".
- Quote
- Order confirmation
- Delivery note
- Bills
- Price offers
- Supplier purchase order
- Supplier self-billing
3. Choice of Tare or Waste
Depending on your application, the notion of loss corresponding to waste weight, packaging weight or weighing container weight can be defined as tare or waste.
By default, the app uses the word "déchet" (waste).
To display the term "tare" on your commercial documents, go to the app's "Settings" tab and activate "Use the term 'Flat-rate tare' on PDFs".
