Management of products and packaging with deposits

Do you sell products with returnable packaging?

With the "Products with deposits" app, automate the management of deposits and returns, as well as the related costs!

Managing products with deposits enables you to monitor customers' returnable stock, and manage deposit invoicing.

By activating the app, you can associate an item with its deposit slip and manage the corresponding invoicing.

1. Associate an item for sale with a returnable package

  • Create the "returnable packaging" item in your sales catalog and enter its unit price.
  • Create the "finished product" sold to your customers
  • Link the returnable packaging to the finished product. In the "Returnable component" field of the finished product, call up the corresponding "returnable packaging". Type the first letters of the packaging name, the item is proposed, select it to link it.

2. Integrate a consigned product into a quotation or invoice 

  • Create a new estimate or invoice
  • In the block listing the items sold, call up the "finished product": indicate the quantities, add the product line
  • Upon validation, the "finished product" is added, with or without the setpoint line, depending on your app settings.

3. Post instructions on sales documents

Go to the "Settings" tab of the app.

To display the deposit line on your sales documents, select "yes" for the option "Insert a line with deposit cost in sales documents".

This is then displayed with the corresponding quantities and deposit costs. The VAT used is that of the returnable item. 

4. Manage deposit stocks

The app enables you to manage consigned products in a separate warehouse, so you can trace and identify their quantities and values for each of your customers: when you deliver consigned products to a customer, the consignment elements are automatically entered into the third party's external warehouse, ensuring traceability. 

If you wish to opt for this mode of operation, go to the app's "Settings" tab.

Select "Yes" for the "Move consigned items to third-party external warehouse" option, after installing the "External warehouses" app.

The name of the external warehouse will then be that of the customer company storing the deposits.

To track consignment stocks, go to the inventory tracking interface and select the "external warehouse" filter. You'll be able to check consignment and consignment stocks, and see which customer has the items.
