Supply lead times

Manage your purchasing lead times

Do you manage product reorders and want to know the potential availability date for each item?

With the "Supply lead times" app, you can record supplier delivery times and visualize the expected delivery date when you create your quotations!

In terms of stock, this app allows you to refine the calculation of your forward stock and have a clear vision of "when" and "how many" items will be delivered, to better inform your customers.

Installing the app adds the following functions:

  • Enter the average lead time on the purchasing section of each product sheet
  • Automatic calculation of product delivery dates on supplier purchase orders
  • This delivery date is taken into account in the calculation of the product supply date shown on quotations and order confirmations.

To benefit from all these features, you need to install the following additional apps:

  • "Forward stock", with "yes" setting for display on quotation lines and order confirmation lines
  • "Supplier delivery date", to display a delivery date on article lines, with setting

1. Enter a lead time on product sheets at time of purchase

Installing the app adds a new "Average delivery time in days" field to the purchase section of product sheets.

This field is used to add the expected number of delivery days for an item.

The unit of this field is the "Day".

This information is an estimate. The date can be modified manually to manage exceptional situations or punctual delivery delays.

2. Calculation of lead time on supplier purchase orders

When drawing up a supplier purchase order, following the call-up of a product in the "ordered products" block:

  • The date in the "Estimated delivery date" field of the item line is automatically adjusted.
  • The date is calculated on the basis of the document date plus the average lead time indicated on the purchasing section of the product sheet.

When the item line is saved, the date is visible in the application.

3. Display stock availability date on quotation and order confirmation

To display this date, the "Forward stock" app, with the "yes" setting for display on quotation lines and order confirmation lines, must be activated.

This app displays, on each item line and according to the app's operating modes, a block of information containing the stock calculation:

  • Available
  • Approved.
  • Reserved
  • Eventually

The "Procurement lead times" app also displays the date of receipt of goods in this block.

  • If procurement is in progress, i.e. supplier orders have been "sent", the application displays the expected procurement date.
  • If no supplier order is in progress, and you have no stock available, the application displays the message "available in X days", where X is the lead time of the product sheet. This commercial information lets you know quickly when the product will be available.
