Do you manufacture prototypes and need to adjust component variables during production trials?
With the "prototyping" app, manage your innovation paths!
Design your models dynamically using production orders.
Activating the app allows you to add and update the composition of a product being designed.
This app works on the basis of a production order.
When the "prototyping" app is installed, and the product in the production order is a composite product, this app lets you rework and adjust the product's compositional elements.
1. Modification of product components
When the product is "folded", a "Modify product composition" link is displayed.
Clicking on this link opens the item composition window. The components displayed can then be modified or supplemented by other items in the product catalog. It is possible to select and add several products to be updated in the composition of the finished product.
2. Product search
A search box allows you to define the products to be updated in the item composition. Search for items in the product catalog by :
- its reference
- its designation
- its product barcode: the app setting "search also in batch or serial numbers" will be applied when entering this field, if the batch or serial number function is active on the application. It is possible to scan several serial numbers or batch numbers for the same product.)
3. Quantity selection
After selecting an item, a quantity field allows you to enter the quantity of selected products (the default quantity is 1).
In the case of multiple serial numbers or batch numbers, the app allows you to select a quantity for each serial number or batch number line (the quantity must be 1 for scanned serial numbers).
If the added components contain serial or batch numbers, this information is kept on the production order line, to allow for subsequent removal from stock.
4. Product validation
Once the changes have been made, a "Validate" button saves the modifications and adds the selected products to the new product composition.
This validation immediately updates the item's composition in the production order, currently being edited, and on the product sheet in your catalog.
Unfolding the components on the production order then displays the new product composition.
5. Catalog product update rules
Following a change in the components of an item from a production order :
- The unit cost of the component taken into account in the finished product is the cost price shown on the product sheet for the component concerned.
- The margin applied to the component added to the product composition is 0% by default.
- The quantity applied to the added component corresponds to the quantity entered in "Quantity selection" divided by the number of units of the parent product indicated in the production order.
