Are you looking to manage variables in an item's name, but don't want to treat it as a new item in stock?
With the"Product name complements" app, set and assign name variables to products, and display them on PDFs of your documents.
Manage variables to associate with product names. Create categories of name complements and select them in your customer invoices.
For example: you sell custom-made wire by the meter, stocked in rolls for you, and don't want to create a specific item for each of the typical lengths sold (3m, 6m etc.). However, you do want to indicate this length in the item heading. This app lets you set the item name variables, which you can then call up in your quotations and invoices.
Activating the app allows you to :
- Setting up lists of name complements
- Assign groups of name complements to products
- Associate a name complement with each item called in a quotation
1. Set up lists of name complements
From the "App Home" page, create groups of name complements (= Name of a term category) and fill in the list of complements for each group (= list of heading variables for each category).
Heading name entry for name completion terms is not limited by group.
Example: you sell WIRE by the meter in lengths of 3, 6 , 9 and 12 meters.
Your product is "WIRE" and your name variables "lengths".
Create a "Length" group and enter the headings: 3 m ; 6 m ; 9 m ; 12 m ;
Your name list for the "Length" group is added to the application.
2. Assign groups of noun complements to products.
With the activation of this app, product sheets are enriched with a new"name complement" field, which lets you select the group of name complements to link to the item.
In our example, on the "WIRE" product sheet, select the "LENGTH" variable in the "Additional name" field.
The list of headings corresponding to the group of name complements selected on the product sheet will then be proposed for selection in quotations.
3. Associate a name complement with each item called in a quotation
When you add an item to an estimate, you'll be presented with a list of group name complements attached to the item.
In our example, by calling the product "FIL" you will be able to choose via a drop-down menu the name complement to be applied among the headings given in the "LENGTH" group, i.e.: 3 m; 6 m; 9 m; 12 m ;
By selecting "6 m", the product name "FIL 6m" will appear on your quotation.
This information will appear on the PDF of your quotations, and will be transferred to your delivery notes and invoices when the quotation is transformed into a delivery note or invoice.
